Merrell Moab walking (hiking) shoe or KEEN Targhee Low Height shoe are two that deserve a hard look for your needs.

Comfort is a relative and sometimes elusive quality, but these 2 brands are known for out-of-the-box comfort for most feet.

They are designed to be worn with thicker socks, such as Thorlos or Darn Tough or SmartWool.
